Pregnancy & Postpartum Therapy
Support for the emotional complexity that can accompany pregnancy, postpartum experiences, fertility struggles, loss, and becoming a parent.
Support for adults navigating the emotional and relational impact of pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, loss, and the transition into parenthood.
Pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, and the transition into parenthood can bring up a wide range of emotional experiences—some expected, and others more difficult to anticipate or understand.
At times, people may feel overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, anxious, unlike themselves, uncertain in their relationships, or affected more deeply by these experiences than they expected.
This may include:
• infertility or difficulty conceiving
• miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss
• difficult pregnancy or postpartum experiences
• birth trauma, NICU experiences, or medical experiences that continue to feel emotionally activating
• changes in identity, relationships, or family dynamics after becoming a parent
• feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, or the version of parenthood you expected
They can affect the way people relate to themselves, their relationships, and their sense of stability or identity.
At times, people may feel pressure to appear okay while struggling internally, disconnected from themselves, uncertain in their relationships, or overwhelmed by emotions they did not expect to have.
Others may find themselves grieving experiences they thought would feel different, struggling with shame or self-criticism, or feeling isolated in ways that are difficult to explain to others.
Together, we work to better understand the emotional impact of these experiences, including relationship changes, self-expectations, or the ways they continue to impact daily life over time.
Our work is not about forcing yourself to feel grateful, adjusting more quickly, or meeting unrealistic expectations of what pregnancy, postpartum, or parenthood “should” look like. Instead, therapy can help you understand your experiences with greater clarity and self-compassion while moving through this period with more support and intention.
These experiences are often deeply personal and can affect relationships, identity, daily life, and the way people relate to themselves over time.
Therapy can provide a consistent place to slow down, process what feels difficult or unresolved, and move through this period with greater support, clarity, and self-understanding.
